Dr Eithne studied medicine in Trinity College Dublin, and as a young doctor found a passion for General Practise. Dr Eithne completed specialist training in the Irish vocational general Practice training scheme, as well as later completing diplomas in child health and clinical psychiatry.
Dr Eithne worked for a short time in Ireland before travelling the world and settling in Australia in 2002. Dr Eithne is passionate about whole-person care: “I enjoy all aspects of general practice and feel it is a very privileged job to have, to be allowed gain such insights into people’s lives and be in a position to provide care, help and guidance”. In addition, Dr Eithne has particular interests in women’s health , paediatrics, mental health, and preventative healthcare.
Throughout her career, Dr Eithne has had a diverse array of experience and contributions to the wider community, working at The Royal Children’s hospital in the GP clinic in the Emergency department, teaching medical students at Deakin University and as an examiner for the Royal Australian College of general practitioners.
Dr Eithne’s additional skills/interests include minor surgery, skin cancer checks and skin lesion biopsies and excisions.
Outside work, she is a mother of 2 young adults, and loves hiking, snorkelling, swimming and exploring her adopted home-country Australia with an adventurous spirit.
